Chris Evans is heading to the small screen for his next role.

It’s no secret that Chris Evans is gearing up to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind. But as much as we’ll miss seeing him play Captain America on the big screen, the good news for Evans fans is that he’s already working on his next project.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Evans is gearing up to star in and executive produce a brand new limited drama coming soon to Apple .

Titled Defending Jacob, the new series is based off of William Landay’s best-selling book of the same name, which came out back in 2012. The book tells the story of a lawyer who is forced to take drastic measures after his son is arrested for stabbing a classmate.

Behind the camera, Defending Jacob will be helmed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game).

Evans is the latest high profile actor to ink a series deal with Apple.

Though relatively new at the television production game, Apple has already snagged a slew of titles which will be lead by some of Hollywood’s most recognizable A-listers.

Other series coming down the pipeline from Apple include the crime drama Are You Sleeping starring Octavia Spencer, a new untitled drama series starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, and futuristic drama series See, starring Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa.

Additionally, we learned earlier this summer that Oprah had signed a multi-year partnership with Apple for original programming.

Currently, there’s no word on when any of the aforementioned series, including Evans’, will premiere.
