Giving Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro a run for their money, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us looks gorgeous.
The animation of the Pokémon series has varied between television seasons and movies, but it has never looked as detailed as it does in Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us.
Check out the fluid motion and lush colors in the teaser trailer for the English dub released by The Pokémon Company today below.
Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us takes place in a small town where everyone vibes well with Lugia and his wind powers. Ash, Pikachu, and friends get wrapped up in the legendary Pokémon events, and have to save the town before it’s too late.
It seems as though Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us is following the new alternative timeline that started in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, which released in 2017. Much like I Choose You!, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us will feature Pokémon from Generations well past the original Generation of the movie it is based off of.
Speaking of Pokémon: The Movie 2000: The Power of One, the title of the latest movie seems to be a play off of the original Lugia-centric Pokémon movie. Lugia will once again play a large role in Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us. We can only imagine that the three Legendary Birds, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, will be a part of the chaos as well. With The Power of One‘s release, it may be that the next remade movie in the Pokémon series is Pokémon 3: The Movie: Spell of the Unknown.
The Power of Us has already released in Japan earlier in July, and will be released in a limited theatrical run in the United States on November 24, 26, and 28, as well as December 1, through Fathom Events.
