Looks like our travel plans to Batuu in Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park might be happening sooner than we all expected.

Disney’s newest Star Wars-themed park, Galaxy’s Edge is going to be one of the most immersive and inventive parks. Fans are just dying to get their chance to visit the park and lose themselves on the distant planet of Batuu.

Happily, Disney has pushed both the Hollywood and Florida parks’ opening dates up, so we’ll get a chance to experience the Star Wars magic a bit earlier. Star Wars released an exciting new trailer to publicize the new dates.

The opening dates for Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort in California will be May 31 of 2019, and the opening at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Florida will be August 29, 2019. However, the entire park will not be available on these new dates.

Disney plans to roll out Galaxy’s Edge in two phases. The first phase will give parkgoers access to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where you can check out Batuu’s local food, beverages, and shops in addition to granting access to the galaxy’s most famous ship. Phase 2 will open access to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance where you will find yourself in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

If you plan to check out Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland between May 31 and June 23, you’ll need a reservation to access the park. If you’re staying at one of the three Disneyland resorts during that time, you will receive a designated reservation for Galaxy’s Edge, but you won’t be able to access the park during Extra Magic Hours.

For now, you won’t need a reservation to visit Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World. Even better, Galaxy’s Edge will be accessible during Extra Magic Hours at Disney World.

You can get more details on the official Star Wars website, where they have posted links on how to get tickets and where to look for reservation information when it becomes available.
